World’s Oldest Pig Is From Texas
North Texas’ Oscar, the Pig, is theworld’s oldest pig as recorded in the Guinnes Book of World Records.
At 20 years old, he’s lived an eventful life. His image has graced an Avanti greeting card, he has made television cameos and was the subject of an article in the Chicago Tribune. He is quite a celebrity.
Stacy Kimbell is Oscar’s owner. Kimbell got Oscar when he was a tiny piglet because her former husband was allergic to cats and dogs. She walked Oscar on a leash until he got too big.
He topped out at 180 pounds, but now weighs about 150 pounds. And while he may be a pig, he’s still picky about what he eats.
“He’s definitely, I would say a little bit of a flirt,” Kimbell said. “We had a party for him, and each time we ended up in the kitchen with women surround him feeding him grapes.”
Oscar and Kimbell have a special relationship.
“He makes a certain sound that means, ‘Where are you?’ and I’ll yell, ‘Osc, I’m over here!’ and he’ll come hang out with me,” Kimbell said. “I’m his celebrity PR person I guess,” she said, laughing.
