Typhoon Ondoy Aftermath in the Philippines

Typhoon Ondoy, an almost super typhoon that raged the Philippines and brought about millions worth of damages and loss of lives to the country, has proven the best among the Filipinos. According to press reports, 1.9 million people were inundated with flood water, nearly 380,000 have been evacuated into schools, churches and other emergency shelters, and 246 people have died. During the typhoon and in the aftermath of such disaster/calamity, the brave and strong individuals did their best to assist the helpless, particularly the children and the elderly who really needed help, people have opened their homes to each other, volunteered to work at relief centers, donated time and money and goods, and basically just put their efforts and talents to work towards relieving the suffering of others and helping out however, wherever and whatever they can. They are real heroes!
