Lucy Juanillo Jawili, married to the late Hortencio Jawili, and daughter of Remedios (nee Castillo) and Crispin Juanillo, both deceased, is based in Fairfield, California. She celebrated her seventieth birthday on June 14, 2008. The birthday bash was held at the Albergus Restaurant in Capitol Hill, Quezon City.

 Sammy, the eldest son and his family flew from Bakersfield, California as well as Bubot, her husband and their three sons from Fairfield, also in California. Relatives, close family friends and other acquaintances graced the occasion. It was a lively and pleasurable celebration.  The attendees danced to their heart’s satisfaction. Everybody enjoyed the party that lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

Lucy said, “This is truly the most memorable birthday party for me. Thank you, God, for all the blessings I have received all these years.”

Lucy  is blessed with seven children, five males and two females and twenty-one grandchildren. All of her children are married. Five of them are in the Philippines; the other two are in the United States. It is, then, no wonder that she celebrated her 70th birthday anniversary in the Philippines.

The event was not only a birthday party for Lucy. It turned  out to be a grand reunion for the Jawilis. What an affair to remember!
