A seminar-workshop on Teacher Induction Program (TIP) was conducted in the division of Laguna sometime in the earlier part of the school year 2008-2009. Participants were secondary and elementary school principals, other school heads and master teachers. This training is designed to put in place a demand-driven teacher education program utilizing the public schools as laboratories for extensive internship program.

For the implementation of TIP, a cluster training was held in the district of Cavinti on October 16-19, 2008 for all the secondary and elementary school teachers from four districts, namely: Luisiana, Magdalena-Majayjay, Pagsanjan and Cavinti. A total of 165 participants, including the trainers, resource speakers and the four district supervisors were in attendance.

The affair was spearheaded by the competent and energetic district supervisors, to wit:

Team Coordinator – - – Dr. Elsa J. Medialdia, Luisiana

Team Leaders – - – - – - Dr. Virgilia G.Casino, Cavinti

Dr. Carmeita R. Mirandilla, Magdalena-Majayjay

Dr Roberto C. Luna, Pagsanjan

Various activities were undertaken, a highlight of which was the introduction of the Gantt Chart. This chart will serve as a guide and/or schedule of activities for six months.

Those who underwent division training served as trainers and resource speakers during the plenary sessions.

The division supervisors monitored the conduct of the workshop: Mrs. Susan de Leon Oribiana, ES 1- Math, Mr. Frederick Zaide, ES 1 – ICT, Mr. Crispin Ildefonso Villarante, ES 1 – Physical Education and Mr. Roelio Opulencia, ES 1 – HEKASE.

As a culmination of the training, a closing ceremony was held on April 13, 2009 at the Cusina de Caliraya, Caliraya Golf and Country Club with Dr. Virgilia Casino, district supervisor of Cavinti as the overall chairman.

It was indeed very successful and significant in the fulfillment of our goals. Everyone enjoyed the job for it widened every teacher’s knowledge and horizons.

The Cavinti mayor, Hon. Florcelie L. Esguerra was out of town for an important mission. The administrative assistant, Mr. Frederick Lubuguin, inspired the audience with his humorous and interesting message.

To our motherly and dynamic Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Lilia T. Reyes and Dr. Maria Luz P. Salvador, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, thank you so much for your moral, financial and unending support. The affair could never have been as successful without your guidance.

Without you, who could we turn to?
