It’s a big, big world out there: shining, shimmering, splendid, add all adjectives to describe the beautiful world. There is her home in the Philippines and then there is everywhere else. What do you think made Miss Norma Tablico bolt suddenly from her home and fly somewhere completely foreign?

Miss Norma Tablico, the principal of Cavinti/Lumot/Calminue Extention National High School/s arrived in Santa Rosa, California on Saturday, October 17, 2009. She stayed with Judith and Alvin, her neice and nephew repectively. She visited famous tourist destinations in the Bay Area: Alcatraz, the city of San Francico, the Golden Gate Bridge and the city of Sebastopol, to name a few.

Judith and her brother brought her to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. They stayed at the Treasure Island Hotel and went gallivanting for three days. She witnessed the unsurpassed sights and sounds of the city and several spectacular shows. Besides, she engaged herself in trying her luck at the slot machines. However, she was shyly hesitant to admit if she lost or won in her contact with the machines.

She also visited the neighboring outlet stores in the area. There she did shopping of the signature goods like clothes, shoes and bags and many more.

While in Las Vegas, the trio took a side trip to Grand Canyon in Arizona. Grand Canyon is a gorge of the Colorado River and one of the major natural wonders of the world.

Her next sojourn was in Kent, Washington where some other relatives live. Again, she toured the beautiful and historical landmarks in the vicinity. Here, she attended a Halloween Party and witnessed the attendees in their colorful costumes.

Her last destination is Florida where her Kuya Sergs, a brother, and his family live. She will stay there for a week.

The principal will fly back to the Philippines on November 22, 2009. Her exhilarating visit to the United States provided her a break from her office work. Her short stay must have been fun-filled and memorable.

Our prayers are with you for a safe flight home. Happy landing!
