Pope Benedict XVI To Visit New York

Empire State BuildingHis Holiness Pope Benedict XVI will visit New York on Saturday, April 19, 2008. He will hold a mass at the United Nations, the Yankee Stadium, St. Joseph Seminary and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

A red carpet reception will be laid out for the Pope’s arrival by New York City. Volunteers have been selected to welcome and entertain Him and to serve at mass. These volunteers will undergo training for this very significant event.

Cavinti is very fortunate to have her own parishioner among the volunteers who will serve the Pope. She is no other than Ms. Evangeline R. Lazaro of New York City and the daughter of Mrs. Marta Ruazol Lazaro and the late Gonzalo Lazaro of Duhat, Cavinti, Laguna until they migrated to the United States.

Vangie or Geline as she is fondly called by her family, relatives, close associates and friends is very active in community work so that it is no wonder she has been selected by the screening committee for the purpose.

Vangie, we are proud of you! More power and God bless!
