What do Lolita Gahite-Mirasol, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Krispy Kreme have in common? Interestingly, the answer is they all came into existence 75 years ago.

When Lolita Gahite-Mirasol (Lolit for short) proudly turned 75 on July 4th, she did not want a milestone birthday party like most adults do when they celebrate the passage of time.

However, Eugene and Jonathan had other plan instead. They would not let this momentous event pass up without a bash.

Invitations with a bold “Sshhhhh… it’s a Surprise Birthday Party..” were sent out to Lolit’s families and relatives, former co-workers from her old workplace at Toronto’s St. Michael Hospital, the Cavinti Paluwagan Group, Cavinti Paluwagan Kids, and her colleagues and friends in Toronto who have been important parts of her life since coming to Canada in 1968.

Therefore, on Sunday July 8th, four days after Lolit’s actual birthday, the modus operandi was put into gear. Guests started arriving at the Lion’s Golf & Country Club as early as specified on the invitation.

Pleasantly shocked, and utterly astonished by the biggest surprise of her life ever, Lolit tearfully hugged and thanked everyone in the crowd exclaiming, “I’m so happy, I love you all”.
