A Move to Rename Pagsanjan Falls to Cavinti Falls Submitted to Sangguniang Bayan

An advocacy campaign started by Cavinti Mayor Florcelie L. Esguerra that seeks to rename Pagsanjan Falls to Cavinti Falls was submitted to the Sangguniang Bayan of Cavinti last February 10, 2009.

Magdapio Falls

Magdapio Falls

Physical evidence confirms that the world famous waterfall is located in the Municipality of Cavinti. It is situated between Barangay Anglas and Tibatib. It is also approximately three thousand meters inside Cavinti if you start measuring from the boundary of Cavinti and Pagsanjan.

Two thirds or 3.296 kilometers of the total length of the river along the Pagsanjan Gorge National Park (supposedly Cavinti-Lumban Gorge since the Gorge is beyond the land territory of Pagsanjan) used by boatmen in their trade of ferrying tourists from Pagsanjan to Magdapio Falls belongs to Cavinti.

There are presidential proclamations issued by then Presidents Manuel L. Quezon and Ferdinand E.
Marcos that readily and categorically recognizes that Pagsanjan Falls is situated in Cavinti, Laguna.
