Hi Emma,
Let’s organize the medical mission to Cavinti around Feb. 15, 2013. The reason being, my wife, Evelyn, a retired NICU Nurse, and I will be joining the medical mission of the Washington medical group to Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya on Feb. 4-5, 2013. Then we will join the Ohio medical group to Olongapo City, Zambales on Feb. 3-8, 2013. Evelyn and I will proceed from Bambang to Olongapo City early morning of Feb. 6h.
Hence, the Feb. 15th medical mission is timely for us. We can plan for 1-2 days medical mission depending on the support we can get. I spoke with Ding your brother and he is aware of this. Vangie Lazaro in New York has indicted her interest to join. Likewise, I spoke with Eden Oliveros Villanueva, she indicted also to join and will invite her daughter, a nurse in New York. She will also invite her sister Yolanda “Diday” and her husband, Dr. Nanding Ayala to join us.
I shared the idea with the “turnohan group” in Greater Los Angeles, and few have indicated some interest.
Let’s reach out to others from Canada and the U.S. to join and/or help.
Meanwhile, did you receive the inventory list of medical/dental supplies from one of my donors? Please check those items that you think will be needed. Likewise, I emailed the same list to Maan Reyes (the Mayor’s assistant), and Abe Valente to contact the Mayor and the Municipal Health Officer, and give the list as well. The host/beneficiary will pay for the shipping cost only, approx. $120 per jumbo/
premium balikbayan box from Indiana to Cavinti. It will take 1/2 months shipping time using Forex Cargo. I will request my donor to donate free of charge at least 2 boxes. I will try to see the Mayor and Abet to coordinate matters.
Evelyn and I will be joing the medical mission to the indigenous people in Davao Norte on Aug. 10-21, 2012, organized by U.S. inter-faith and community advocacy group, in collaboration with several groups helping the minorities in Southern Mindanao. The Davao-based Community Health-Based Association, a non goverment orgnization will lead the local medical group. Dr. Lynn Redoble is the executive director, and sent the list of items needed from one of my donors. We are sending 4-jumbo balikbayan boxes. Another donor is shipping 1-40 footer container of assorted medical supplies and equipments free of charge. The beneficiary/sponsor pays for the shipping cost only from Michigan to Davao City.
I also notified Mrs. Lucila Oblena to share the information in her website: http://www.tipakan.com/, or
http://www. CAVINTI DIASPORA.
Who else can your suggest to join us? Your comments please.
