There is a saying, “weddings are for parents,” which by the way has a ring of truth to it. This sentiment was put into words in the song, “Sunrise, Sunset” with the lines, “Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don’t remember growing older, when did they?”
On October 17, 2009, Jerson and Nan Zhao said their “I do’s” at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in New Orleans, Louisiana and the reception held at the Plimsoll Club, in New Orleans’ World Trade Center.
The groom, Jerson Resurreccion Lafuente is the only son of Jerry Lafuente and Dr. Corazon Ansay Resurreccion.
The bride, Nan Zhao is originally from China and an exchange student.
Earlier this year, in April, Jerson and his parents, Jerry Lafuente and Dr. Corazon Ansay Resurreccion went to China to meet the bride’s family.
Following Chinese tradition, it was a formal gathering and there were 300 guests who witnessed the engagement announcement of Jerson and Nan Zhao.
