How to be Happy in Life
Everybody spends his/her life searching for happiness. Happiness is so irresistible; so attractive; so convincing that whether we realize it or not, every thing we do is aimed at making ourselves happy.
But happiness is so elusive. It, then, becomes a choice. You have to make it. It is a state of being only you can create. There are simple things we can do to enjoy happiness and contentment, bringing goodness to ourselves and to that of others, too.
1. Free yourself from hate. If you have been holding a grudge or two, it may be harming you physically or psychologically. The cure: forgiveness. Studies have shown that practising forgiveness cna have a positive effect on our lives.
2. Free your mind from worry. Worrying is the only symptom of anxiety that can bother people the most. Do not anticipate worry, or worry about what may happen. If something goes wrong, fix it if you can. Train yourself not to worry. It never does you any good.
3. Give more, expect less. This seems a fanatical thing to do. If we do not have much, how can we give more to any body? But it can be done. It is not money alone that we can give to others to make them happy. It will all come down to one thing - service to others. In this instance, the receiver is the happier individual. You will enjoy the fact that you have made somebody cheerful and satisfied.
4. Live with integrity. Acting with integrity somestimes involves wise decision making. The decision you have made may not make sense to the onlookers but is convincing to you because it is consistent with your core value. Hence, a fulfillment of your goal.
5. Lead a simple life. Stop going around in circles. Head straight to what you really want to do. It is the wanting that counts. Doing what you want can make having things that you want seem a lot less important. Having fewer things lead to having more time to do what you choose; you will find satisfaction doing fewer things.
