DALLAS, May 9, 2010 / — I have been writing this Mother’s Day article for a few days now, but I always end up hitting delete and starting over because when I read what I had written, they sound cliché.
After all, Europe began celebrating Mother’s Day during the 1600 though it was a religious holiday, honoring the Virgin Mary first and all the others hereafter. Here in the U.S., the modern day Mother’s Day that we celebrate today started on May 10, 1908.
However we look at it, 400 years or 100 years, Mother’s Day have been celebrated for a long time and writers who are more skilled that me have written more clever articles or treatises about it.
But, I don’t want clever; I don’t even want to intellectualize on Mother’s Day. I want this to come from the heart, because, isn’t it what Mother’s Day is all about… love?
So, I’ll just keep it short and sweet… to all moms, Happy Mother’s Day.
And, I’ll like a special mention for my mom, Lucila C. Oblena, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! And for you, I’m posting all the recent photos I’ve taken of you.
