DALLAS, Apr 28, 2010 / — It was an evening to remember, not just because we spent it with Barbara Bush, the daughter of President George W. Bush or that it was a book launch for “Classy”, a new book by Derek Blasberg.
It was an evening to remember because we drank champagne and shared hors d’oeuvres with friends. Monday night, Celso and Doris Villanueva, together with my mother Lucila Oblena, we attended the book signing event of “Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady.”
Witty and amusing, “Classy” is a hilarious handbook that will provide teens and young adults everything they need to know about fashion, socializing, dating, and etiquette. With tons of practical tips and tools for learning to flaunt what you’ve got, dozens of specific how-tos, common no-nos, and huge blunders that even smart girls make, this tongue-in-cheek book will train you to be a lady, and not a tramp!
Held at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, “Classy” was not just about the book but also about the evening. Hosted by Barbara Bush, Dallas’ social set attended. The guest list read like Dallas’ social register.
But to the four of us, the fun was because we spent the evening together. After the book signing, we decided to have dinner at a Thai restaurant where we continued our tête–à–tête and ended the evening with camaraderie and friendship.
