Recession or not, the Labor Day weekend that fell Sep 5 – 7, 2009, was the “official” end of summer for us here in the U.S. It was also the last long weekend before classes start.
Between back-to-school shopping and following the tradition of taking a trip before fall arrives, we decided to drive down I-10 and visit Cabazon Outlet Stores which is located between Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
With my wife Cita Belleza as my co-pilot, we took the 90-minute drive from Los Angeles with Ning and Zeng Solema, Ellen Divinagracia Laurente, Nestor and Dina de Jesus (nee Divinagracia), Rodel and Cynthia Villanueva (nee Flores), Chito Valente, and the kids.
It was actually a comfortable ride in our RV where there was enough room for everyone to sit, enjoy the ride, even play cards, or sleep.
And then of course, when we arrived at the Cabazon Outlet Stores, it was every man and woman for themselves because half of Los Angeles thought the same way we did, it was going to be a great day to shop.
