The members of the Benuto-Felifa Mesina family had the telltale signs of a grand, long-awaited family reunion. Some of the Mesinas from abroad flew to the Philippines as early as the third week of January, 2009; the others followed on the first week of February.
Come February 14, 2009, that’s the red-letter day on their calendar. IT WAS A DAY FULL OF HUGS AND KISSES, BLESSINGS FROM ELDERS, HANDSHAKES AND PATS ON THE SHOULDERS!
Seeing each other again, relatives all, made the reunion a worthwhile experience.
The affair was a great opportunity to connect family and relatives, as well as long-lost missing branches of extended family. Besides, it was a chance to deepen family connection and support for one another while fostering an appreciation of one’s heritage. .
