When you’re a month shy of being 88, there are very few things that excite me to get out of bed. But, today was special because I was going to meet Candice Swanepoel, Victoria’s Secret model.
Alright, you might be wondering why an 87-year-old woman like me needs to see a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Let’s just say that last June 2011, when I met Doutzen Kroes, a Victoria’s Secret Angel, I realized that the word “Angel” was not just an advertising copy but a true to life description of this young woman.
So, today, when my daughter who is a fashion journalist told me that she was going to North Park Center to interview Candice Swanepoel who was in Dallas for the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Tour, I insisted that she take me with her. And, I was not disappointed!
A statuesque beauty at 5 ft 9 inch (175 cm), Candice Swanepoel is a “Very Sexy” Angel in her white mini. Yet, what made her more beautiful in my eyes is that after my daughter interviewed her, she addressed me and asked me how I was doing that morning and that she was glad that I could make it to the press conference.
At 87, I am no longer part of Victoria’s Secret’s target market yet Candice Swanepoel still spent a few minutes to speak with me though the press conference schedule was very tight.
Alright, I could not wear the Very Sexy underwear, but I ended up buying the Very Sexy Fragrance Mist before I left the store! It’s actually good!
