Merlin Ansay Carlos and her husband Lorenzo Carlos went to the Vatican in Rome, Italy to commemorate their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They saw and heard the mass celebrated by His Holiness Pope John Benedict XVI. They said they felt holy affections implanted in their minds and hearts as a renewal of their marriage vows and that they were spiritually born anew as devout Catholics upon and after hearing the mass. Hence a feeling of blessedness and contentment in themselves.

On the other hand, Merlin could not avoid teary eyes because she wished that their two sons, Lawrence Carlos, 23 and Kenneth Loyd, 20 were with them. They are attending school in Sheffield University in Scotland and London University in London respectively.
The Carloses are based in Stratford, London, England.
