Every year on this day, the Americans celebrate the Fourth of July,  the birthday of the great country, the  United States of America. On July 4, 1776, the Americans adopted the Declaration of Independence, declaring independence from England.

On this day in 1776, John Adams declared, “This day will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by the succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ouught to be solemnized with pump and parade, with shows,  games,  sports, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from  one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

This day saw the beginning of a journey that has brought the Americans through struggles and sdversity to become the proud and strong nation that the United States is today.
