MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos will be treated to one of the most “sensual” and artistic dances of the world during the 4th Manila Tango Festival & Championship which will be held on May 16-22, 2012 with the special participation of Tango couple Analia Carreno and Luiggi Ramirez (Conjuro Tango/Tango Nuevo) from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The three other pairs are Laila and Leandro Oliver, Tamara Bisceglia and Federico Paleo, and Noelia Coletti and Pablo Georgini

Ogie Mendoza, organizer of the world-wide event, has a 17-year experience on dancing, teaching and promoting the Tango. “It’s my passion… and career!” he said.

Ogie is a teacher, performer and organizer – and his expertise in the three fields has brought him to various cities, particularly in Southeast Asia, teaching, dancing and organizing Tango events!

Ogie said: “Over a hundred years since its birth, the Tango has had, in recent years, an unprecedented global following as a lifestyle and travel option among culture-seekers and dance aficionados.

“Its music, at once passionately uplifting and eternally tragic, brings together a diversity of men and women from all walks of life in the quintessential Tango embrace, in three minutes of a song, with the most subtle of movements unlike any other partner dance any dancer has ever danced before.”

Worldwide, the Filipino Tango master said that “Tango is gripping the hearts of millions of dance pilgrims in dance studios, social halls, hotel ballrooms, local cafes, swanky bars, famous parks and touristy riverbanks!”

Hence, the forthcoming Manila Tango Festival & Championship on May 16-22 is a must-see or to be attended or participated in. There will also be workshops on how to dance the Tango. Schedules are May 18, May 19, and May 20.

There will also be advanced classes. For the workshops and 4th Manila Tango Festival & championship, email to: manilatangoclub@gmail.com or visit www.manilatangofestival.com or www.tangoblitz.com.
