AL-KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia – For the very first time, three Philippine schools in eastern Saudi Arabia paid tribute to their Filipino teachers during the celebration of World’s Teacher’s Day last October.

More than 200 teachers and administrative staff from the Philippine School in Al-Khobar (PSA), Al Andaluz International School (AAIS) and Al Jazeera International School in Damman (AJISD) attended the event.

“This is the very first time that 3 Filipino schools are gathered in one room. I just hope that this would be a very good start and there will be more meetings like this for us teachers,” said PSA principal Lydia Milag.

The participants were happy because the event recognized the schools’ contributions to their students and to society.

“I hope that this will continue in the coming years so that the teachers would continue to be motivated and inspired with the common goal to serve the dependents of OFWs in the Eastern Province,” said AJISD principal, Lita Rulloda.

Likewise, the participants thanked Education Attache Estrella Babano for organizing the event.

“We thank the organizers of this World Teachers’ Day that they have started especially for Dr. Babano who initiated this,” said Principal Vergie Dy of the AAISD.
